VS 2010

Jan 8, 2010 at 4:00 PM

Are there plans for a VS 2010 release.  I have tried looking through the code to get it working in 2010, and managed to get the add-in installed in 2010.  Unfortunately I am too green in programming and I got a little lost when trying to actually make the add-in work :-(  Even better would be a little guidance about what I need to change (then I can learn in the process). :-)

Thanks for the reply, and I apologize my reply is so long in coming, but i have been out of commission for a while.

I downloaded the latest Source (37765) and imported into VS 2010 (conversion took place).  I had to change the addin location in the 'post-build event command line' and as well as the path to devenv.exe.  After this was done I enabled all exceptions as per your post, and on build got the following Exceptions.

*****Exception #1 begin*****

Microsoft.VisualStudio.PlatformUI.Automation.DeprecatedException occurred

Needless to say, the addin did not work...

I am getting the same exception when using VS 2010 Release Candidate. I also get exception when setting .Left property of the Commandbar object.

I'd also like a vs2010 version... Mine doesn't give any errors, but mine doesn't do anything at all. Version number is still 0.0.0.3

Please update this for VS2010, I'm lost without it! :-)

Thank you!

Can you please expand on this? Are you asking for VS 2010 version of VSNETcodePrint? If so please visit out website www.starprinttools.com.

I too desperately need this new version of the tool. Please .......

Apr 27, 2010 at 2:08 PM

I too would like to know if there will be a VS2010 version of this invaluable add-in. Is there any plans?

Apr 27, 2010 at 3:27 PM

+1

I'm also looking for something. Is there any other app worth looking at in the meantime?

Apr 29, 2010 at 10:09 AM

+1. Desperate to find something to a have a simple way to do that kind of autoincrement.

Apr 30, 2010 at 4:32 PM

I have been using AutoIncrement for about 5 months now and was hoping it could be updated to VS 2010 as well.  Keep up the great work.

+1, waiting for vs 2010 support...

May 10, 2010 at 1:44 PM

I just updated to VS2010 so I also need this. I base all my projects versioning on this tool.

I took a look at the code to see if I could manage something, but I wasn't able to do anything with it...

Is a VS2010 version being looked at? Any feedback from the maintainer?

Thank you so much !!!!

After a few quick tests, it works great. I will have more time within the next few days to put it through the paces. Thank-you very much for your time and effort in getting this released. It really is appreciated.

I noticed in this update posted 5/12/2010: 2.2.10132.1603

there is a file "BuildVersionIncrement_VS2009.VSI" ... should that be 2008?  I ran it in and the menu option is no longer visible in VS 2008.

May 12, 2010 at 6:11 PM

Disregard, menu option no longer visible in 2008.  I re-ran the 2009.vsi and now VS2008 is on the 10132.1603

May 13, 2010 at 9:56 PM

How do you install it - I've run the BuildVersionIncrement_VS2010.vsi file and I get

"one of more content items contained within the .vscontent cannot be installed becuase the correct version of the content installer component cannot be found"

What am I missing?

May 14, 2010 at 7:54 AM

Problem solved - VS Express doesn't support add-in's :( You need to use the full version. (Professional/Ultimate)

May 26, 2010 at 11:10 AM

I've been testing this and i've found a problem. It doesn't seem to be working when building from the command line.
