HOW not auto increment a referred project

May 28, 2011 at 7:10 AM

Hi Everybody,

Let us say I do have a project, let us call it "Project A", wich depends on another project, let us call it "Project B".

When I say "depends on", I mean that Project A and Project B are in the same Solution, and if you right click on "Project A" and select "Project Dependendies", then Project B is selected.

If I do change the source code of Project A, and I build Project A, both version of Project A and Project B are autoincremented.

The version of project B increments even if no change has been made to project B.

I wish that the version of Project B is going to be autoincremented only if any change has been made to the source code of the project itself.

Is there any way to do that?

Thank you all

I have the same question and it is quite annoying when you go to commit files and all AssemblyInfo files have been incremented just because they are reference by the project that actually had changes.

A solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated...or am I just missing something here?
