To make it work on vs12 I've uploaded a patch check it here: http://www.codeplex.com/Download?ProjectName=autobuildversion&DownloadId=463271 Program is great! For future i would request a feature of: "Day"&"Month" Stamp instead of the timestamp since i'm outside US i prefer 16/07 instead of 07/16 :)

WARNING: does not work if u have english VS (any version) installed on top of a localized version of Windows (in my case Italian). Several people pointed out, but the problem still remains in every version of the add-in. For some reason, it parses strings to find dates, but it doesn't handle internationalization correctly. For me is useless, but if work for you it's worth using...

Looking for something like this for.. years! Had issues with initial setup but figured it out.. yea.. works a charm.. finally proper versions on my solutions... !
